Tiny Beam of Light

Shining a tiny beam of light on some great films you might not know existed (and the odd blockbuster too).

The Class (aka Entre Les Murs) (2008) dir: Laurent Cantet

OK,  another LFF film. I dragged a friend to see this. He generally only likes blockbusters – so watching a story set almost entirely in one room with a teacher and a bunch of uncontrollable adolescents was not his idea of fun. And it was more than 2 hours long.

Guess what. He was mezmorised for the entire time. There’s loads of stuff being written on this film so I don’t really need to.

Hey, I didn’t even realise that the teacher (played by François Bégaudeau) was that actual teacher and writer of the book the film was based upon.
